Pump Out Stations
As boaters, it is our responsibility to ensure waste from our vessels is properly disposed of. This ensures protection of the marine environment, and of the people who swim in our waters. In some areas, known as No Discharge Zones, discharge of sewage, whether treated or not, is prohibited from all vessels. The following areas around Long ISland are No Discharge Zones: South Shore Estuary Reserve, Peconic waters-East Hampton, Huntington-Northport Bay Complex, Port Jefferson Complex, Peconic Estuary, Oyster Bay/Cold Spring Harbor and Hempstead Harbor.
Below is a list of some, but not all facilities on Long Island waters that offer pump out stations. This list provides a mix of public and private facilities. The most a public facility can charge by law for a pump out is $5, though many are free. There is no limit to what a private facility can charge. We recommend calling ahead (ha ha) to verify pricing.
