Dear Fellow Boaters,

With a new year of boating comes a new year of fees.  Here are some of the fees you may be paying this year.

New York State Boat Registrations

Boat registrations are issued for three years.  There is a registration fee and a surcharge for boating safety.  The fees and surcharges are calculated from the length of the boat as follows:
·    Less than 16 feet - $22.50 registration fee and $3.75 surcharge ($26.25 total).
·    16 feet to less than 26 feet - $45.00 registration fee and $12.50 surcharge ($57.50 total).
·    26 feet or longer - $75.00 registration fee and $18.75 surcharge ($93.75 total).

New York State Empire Passport

The Empire Passport is accepted at 178 state parks, 55 DEC forest preserve areas, as well as to boat launch sites, arboretums and park preserves. Available for $65, the 2011 Passport is accepted now through March 31, 2012.

Town Docking Fees

If you want to spend the weekend at Davis Park or Gilgo Beach it's gonna cost you.  For a list a towns and their fees, visit our Public Docks page.

Boat Ramps Fees

Launching your boat is free at NY State Parks, though you have to pay a parking fee (unless you have the previously mentioned Empire Passport).  Town fees vary.  For a list a towns and their fees, visit our Boat Ramps page.

 Chateau La Mer on the water in Lindenhurst is hosting their annual Valentine's Dinner Dance.  Guests will enjoy a to Top Shelf Open Bar for five hours and music provided by Unlimited Entertainment DJ to set the mood and keep them dancing.  Admission also includes appetizers, dinner and dessert.  Tickets are normally $70 per person, but readers of our newsletter get $10 off per couple.  Click here for more information and your coupon.
